The vocalist of Mars Sucks has a great, expressive and really interesting voice that reminded me of Pearl Jam in places. I hope that’s a compliment! It’s intended as such!
I like the addition of the electric guitar in the second verse, it keeps the interest in the song going.
Oh! OH!!! Wait…..Just as I was about to type that it was getting a little samey – that happened!!
YEAH – I love the way the drums and the full song just explodes in. The spoken word section in the middle of the song makes it really powerful. It shocked me when it first came in, but then I grew to love it.
Real quality drumming that just keeps building with a full band sound that is mixed well, and then all of a sudden we’re in to a section where there’s some crowd chanting which I liked but which took the song out of a comfortable length for commercial air play if that’s what you’re looking for.
Overall, top work. A really promising, unique sound from a class act.
