The Connecting Dots release their latest single, Move On, today (February 22, 2022).
For lovers of 80s/ disco crossover music – I guarantee this is for you.
Swedish duo The Connecting Dots are singer Helena Sundstrom and guitarist
Johan Borg. Together they’ve produced a really authentic sounding 80s style that harks back to crazy fashions and neon everything!
There’s moments in this song that I thought of Blondie (Atomic), Stevie Nicks, Kim Wilde, New Order and even a little touch of Kylie Minogue for a second or two!
This is a well mixed track that grabs your attention immediately and hangs on to it for the entire radio friendly 3 and a half minute song.
The drums drive this track along strongly and confidently, with some superbly authentic synths and powerful bass.
A great guitar solo that’s suitably simplistic but says everything it needs to say. I like how the guitar fades a little further back at the end of the solo but is still there, mimicking the vocal lines in a few places. This is the kind of attention to detail that takes a good song to a great song!

I think the vocal track is doubled, which is a nice touch for this style of music but it feels a little distant and hard to hear in a few places. I could have done with hearing Helena just a little more. There’s a slightly dominating frequency (I think on the vocal track) in the choruses at around 1100hZ, I’d personally choose to notch this out just a touch.
Overall this is a really well produced, authentic 80s feeling feel good track with a supremely catchy chorus. Great work!
We look forward to hearing more from the Connecting Dots and give this track 4 ears out of 5
